Despite several penalties that left St. John's Prep a man down for more than a quarter, the Eagles spread the ball on offense and relied on their All-American defense to defeat Waltham, 10-3, in a Div. 1 East boys lacrosse first-round contest yesterday in Danvers.

Prep earns its shot

St. John's Prep was denied 13 times by goalie Greg Majno and still managed to muscle an 11-8 victory against No. 3-seeded Lincoln-Sudbury in a Division 1 boys lacrosse semi-final.

 

Same winning story for Walpole

Freshman Brooke Matherson broke the ice 11 minutes into the second half, igniting a 3-0 victory over Bay State Herget rival Wellesley to win another Div. 1 South sectional field hockey title at Taunton High yesterday.

 

Weston pulls out title

It did get a little hairy late, but the Weston boys tennis team finally put away Bromfield to win the Division 3 state team title last night with a 4-1 win at Clark University's Corash Courts in Worcester.
